Arisa vince Sanremo / Arisa wins the 64th Sanremo

La 64esima edizione del Festival di Sanremo (il festival annuale di musica in Italia) si è conclusa senza troppo dramma. La vincitrice del concorso di quest’anno… rullo di tamburi per favore… è Arisa da Potenza in Basilicata. Ha vinto il premio, una statua curiosa di un leone che balla con una palma d’oro (con fronde di colore verde smeraldo!), con la canzone “Controvento”. La canzone è stata scritta dal suo ex fidanzato Giuseppe Anastasi, rivelandosi la più amata del 2014. Si può trovarla sul disco “Se vedo te”. Volevo anche dire “wow!” Arisa ha cambiato il suo look! Adesso lei sembra molto elegante, mentre alcuni anni fa era molto felice di essere demodè e mettere gli occhiali grandi.

The 64th edition of Sanremo (Italy’s annual music festival) has trundled to a close. The winner of this year’s competition… drumroll please… is Arisa from Potenza in the Basilicata. She captured the prize, a curious statue that features a lion dancing with a golden palm tree (with bright green fronds!), with her song “Controvento”. The song was written by Giuseppe Anastasi, her ex-boyfriend, confirming that it is the most beloved song of 2014. It can be found on the album “Se vedo te”. I’d also just like to say “wow!” has Arisa changed her look! She is now very sleek and elegant, whereas a few years back she was very happy to be frumpy and sport big rimmed glasses.

Dopo aver ricevuto il suo premio, con orgoglio ha mostrato la sua statua al mondo e ha detto: “Tutto ok, sono contenta. Sono veramente felice. Vorrei fare i complimenti a Raphael Gualazzi e a Renzo Rubino (gli altri due finalisti), è molto bello dividere il palco con loro”.

After receiving her award, she proudly displayed her golden statue for all to see and said: “Everything is ok, I am happy. I’m really happy. I would like to congratulate Raphael Gualazzi nd renzo Rubino (the other two finalists), it is very nice to share the stage with them”.

Durante la settimana ho visto pezzettini dello show, che ha avuto inizio il 18 febbraio e che è terminato il 22 febbraio. Per il secondo anno consecutivo la manifestazione è stata guidata dalla comica Luciana Littizzetto, una donna divertente il suo complemento Fabio Fazio. È ancora possibile vedere molte scene comiche sul sito di “YouMedia”. Momenti interessanti comprendono il monologo di Lettizzetto, in cui ha parlato di “bellezza” e come non abbia nulla a fare con essere normale – la diversità è la bellezza. Potete leggere il testo del suo monologo qui. In un’altra scenetta chiamata “Bello è” ha letto ad alta voce con Fazio una lista “delle cose belle” che ha ricordato agli spettatori che la bellezza esiste nelle cose che a volte ci dimentichiamo di apprezzare.

During the week I caught bits and pieces of the show, which began on February 18th and finished on February 22. For the second year in a row, the show was hosted by funny woman Luciana Littizzetto and her sidekick and straight man Fabio Fazio. You can still catch many funny scenes on the “YouMedia” Fan Page site. Highlights include Littizzetto’s monologue, in which she talked about beauty not having anything to do with being normal – beauty is diversity. Read the text of her monologue click here. In another skit called “Bello è” she and Fazio read out loud a list of “beautiful things”, and reminded the viewers that beauty exists in things that sometimes we forget to appreciate. 

Nel vero stile di “Lettizzetto” Luciana ha condotto lo show scherzando, facendo commenti sarcastici e irriverenti e generalmente si è comportata in un modo cattivo, come lei è propensa a fare sul palco pubblico. Indossava abiti stravaganti e balzava da una scenette ad un’altra e poi si è  ricordata a presentare i cantanti. Ad un certo punto è vestita come Raffaella Carrà, la ballerina veterana ed insieme a Carrà, in un modo comico, ha ballato sulla canzone “Rumore”. Alla fine dell’esibizione la Carrà si è complimentata: “Hai un bel culo”.

In true “Lettizzetto” style Luciana carried the show by bantering, making snarky comments, and generally misbehaving as she is apt to do on the public stage. She wore outrageous outfits and flounced her way from one skit to another and even remembered to introduce the singers. At one point she dressed up as Raffaella Carrà the veteran showgirl and together with Carrà she postured her way through a dance number to the song “Rumore”. At the end of the number, the real Carrà told her she had a rather nice derriere.

La serata finale del Festival di Sanremo è iniziata con una simpatica scenetta tra Terence Hill ,nei panni del celebre don Matteo, che “sposa” Fabio Fazio e Luciana Littizzetto. “Ho fatto un lungo viaggio (presumibilmente sulla sua famosa bicicletta da Gubbio) ma ne valeva la pena” – dice- “devo sposare due persone che non possono fare a meno l’uno dell’altra… vi dichiaro marito e moglie finchè Sanremo non vi separi!”.

The final evening of the Sanremo Festival started with a cute scene with Terence Hill in his role as the famous Don Matteo officiating the marriage of Fabio and Luciana.  “I made a long journey (on his famous bicycle from Gubbio presumably) but it was worth it, to marry two people who can not do without each other…. I now pronounce you husband and wife until Sanremo do your part!”
