Percorsi felici! 30 Days Indie Travel Project Concludes – Travel plans 2012

30 Days of Indie Travel Project Day 30!: Where are you going in 2012? Why is that place great for indie travelers?

30 Giorni di Indie Travel Project Giorno 30 del progetto! Il tema è: “Dove vai in 2012?

Dove andrò nel 2012? Il sogno è sempre tornare in Italia. Al momento però, invece di andarci, una piccola parte d’Italia viene da me. Durante l’estate di 2012 accoglierò con gioia un’amica italiana che resterà con me per alcune settimane. Io farò la turista nella mia città di San Francisco e faremo insieme le gite nel mio vicinato, accanto alla baia famosa!

Where am I going in 2012? The dream of course is always to return to Italy. At the moment, however, instead of going there, a little bit of Italy is traveling to me. Next summer I will be welcoming a friend from Italy who will be staying with me for a couple of weeks. I will be playing tourist in my own city of San Francisco and sight seeing in my own back yard, next door to our famous Bay!

Comunque… se andassi in Italia l’anno prossimo, ci sono tre posti in cui andrei volentieri. Che bella sorpresa! Tutti tre hanno qualcosa a che fare con imparare la lingua!

But, if I were go to Italy next year, there are three places I most definitely would head for in a flash. Surprise surprise… they all have something to do with language learning!

Prima, mi piacerebbe tornare in Puglia per fare una visita agli amici a Locorotondo. Poi andrei a Lecce un po’ più sud, dove io troverei la mia amica Ylenia Sambati. Ylenia offre corsi di cucina, wine tours, yoga retreats e escursioni per vedere l’arte in sud Italia. Mi ha contattato l’altro ieri e mi ha detto: “Non sarebbe bello se tu venissi da me per aiutarci con i tour di conversazione Italiano che YLTour offre?” Yle è una bella tentatrice e sono quasi convinta di accettare la sua proposta! Mi ha convinta quando ha detto “stiamo organizando un “language camp”! Tour Italianissimo! Pensate un po’! Imparare la lingua, viaggiare in Puglia…niente è meglio di quello!

First, I would return to Puglia and visit friends in Locorotondo. Then I would strike off for Lecce, a little farther south, where my friend Ylenia Sambati lives. Ylenia offers cooking classes, wine tours, yoga retreats and art holidays in southern Italy. She contacted me the other day and said “Wouldn’t it be great if you came and helped us with YLTour’s Italian conversation group?” Yle is a beautiful temptress and I am halfway there to accepting her offer! She had me at: “we are organizing a language camp”! Tour Italianissimo! Language, learning, traveling around Puglia… it doesn’t get any better than that! 

Poi sulla mia agenda sarebbe una sosta nella Basilicata per passare un po’ di tempo con la mia amica Ilaria Navarra. Lei da anche i corsi d’Italiano e le gite attraverso Ferulaviaggi. Non sono mai andata nella Basilicata e ho la voglia di scoprire la bellezza di questa regione d’Italia. Penso che sia un modo fantastico per esplorare mentre sto migliorando il mio Italiano. Next on my agenda would be a lay over in the Basilicata in order to spend time with my friend Ilaria Navarra. She also offers language classes and tours through Ferulaviaggi. I have never been to the Basilicata and long to explore the beauty of this region of Italy. What a great way to explore the region while I’m working on the language. Finora mi piace molto questo programma di viaggio. Però la mia vacanza non sarebbe perfetto almeno che vado all’ultimo in Toscana, per visitare gli amici Daniela, Eva e Angelo a Lucca Italian School. Mi piace molto la passione e la creatività di questi insegnanti. Li ho scoperti attraverso il loro blog Parlo Italian! La loro passione per Lucca e la sua storia è molto impressionante. Se volete studiare in Toscana, Lucca School sarebbe la mia scelta!

So far I am loving this travel plan! But, my program will not be complete unless I finish my trip off with a visit to Tuscany, to spend some time my friends Daniela, Eva and Angelo at their Lucca Italian School. I really like the passion and the creativity of these teachers. I discovered them through their blog Parlo Italiano! and was immediately struck by their love for the home town and it’s history. Check out a guest blog they wrote for me. If you want to study Italian in Tuscany, this would be my choice!

Allora! caspita! Penso di aver fatto il mio itinerario per 2012! Nel frattempo, ogni giorno ho intenzione di andare in Italia dalla mia poltrona attraverso internet e skype. Chissà…forse ci incontriamo in Puglia, la Basilicata o in Toscana l’estate prossima.

So, wow, I guess I just designed my itinerary for 2012! In the mean time, every day I will be doing a lot of arm chair traveling & visiting il bel paese via skype and the internet. But who knows… we may see one another in Puglia, Basilicata or Tuscany next summer!
