Durante il mese di aprile, ogni settimana ho pubblicato una parola o un’espressione combinato con un’immagine sulla pagina di Facebook di Studentessa Matta. Queste sono parole casuali che mi sono imbattuto durante la lettura o che ho sentito nei film che ho trovato utile e degno di essere evidenziato.
During the month of April, every week I posted a word or an expression combined with an image on the Studentessa Matta Facebook page. These are random words that I came across while reading or that I heard in movies that I found useful and worth highlighting.

Pasquetta = Little Easter or Easter Monday
The tradition of Pasquetta is a closely-held one, maintained with almost religious fervor though it is a civil holiday. The day after Easter Sunday is called “Pasquetta” (little Easter) and is a day to relax. It was instituted in the post-war period to create a long weekend, which allows people to have a weekend getaway, or at least a “scampagnata” (jaunt to the countryside). In fact, that is the main way to celebrate Pasquetta -pack a picnic and head for the country! Hordes of people go to the mountains, the hills, or the beach, or their own family’s country property, to enjoy a picnic or a barbecue outdoors. It is the holiday that heralds spring and is a festive, enjoyable day.
Dormire come un ghiro
Ghiro = dormouse
I ghiri sono animali notturni dal lunghissimo letargo, ecco perchè si dice dormire come un ghiro.
Oh, Dio! e Odio!
Oh, Dio! e Odio! Conoscete la differenza? Sembrano quasi gli stessi, ma quando si pronuncia l’enfasi è diversa.

Pullulare = teem, overflow, swarm
Fate attenzione alle api che pullulano intorno all’alveare.
