August 30 – September 6th you will find the Studentessa Matta in Chianti country, near Arezzo at Tenuta Lupinari – a beautiful agriturismo nestled in the Tuscan countryside! I would like to invite you to join me to spend SEVEN days in Tuscany studying with private instructors and immersing in the Italian culture of the Chianti region!
My friends at Tenuta Lupinari and I are planning the next Matta Language & Cultural Immersion trip in Italy and YOU ARE INVITED to join us! Antonella & Marianna Pellegrino, the daughters of Maria Letizia Castriota, owner of the family estate, and I are pleased to offer you a week of privately tutored language lessons, as well as a delightful program of activities and excursions set in the heart of the beautiful Chianti region. The Tenuta/estate dates back to the XVI century and has been carefully & lovingly restored. Today it welcomes guests who are looking for sublime landscapes & breathtaking views of the Tuscan hills. During our stay at the villa, we will study Italian in the mornings & in the afternoons we will explore the Chianti region and surrounding hill towns. Look what we have in store: cooking class in the villas kitchens where we will prepare a 4-course meal under the guidance of the estate’s chef, there will be guided tours of Siena, Arezzo and surrounding medieval villages, 2 separate wine tastings at Villa a Sesta and Badia di Pomai, an Italian movie night at the villa, Spa afternoon at Terme di Sangiovanni, Yoga under the olive trees, as well as plenty of free time to relax by the pool at the villa! The rooms at the Tenuta overlook the charming valley, the castle, the olive grove, and the small streets of the village. The main hall features a wonderful fireplace & is a lovely place to relax and chat. There is free Internet Wi-Fi in all the common spaces (hall, bar, restaurant, and terrace).
The Matta Language & Cultural Immersion at Tenuta Lupinari will be a relaxing & enjoyable vacation, open to all levels of language learners. We welcome advanced as well as beginning students as well as any “significant others” who might not speak the language, but who want to experience Chianti’s amazing culture and cuisine.

Accommodations: We will be staying at Tenuta Lupinari in the apartments. There are 3 rooms with 3 bathrooms in each apartment. Prices are based on double room occupancy. For a single room please inquire. Enjoy a dip in the swimming pool (20mt x 8mt) ideal for sunbathing and studying your Italian grammar! There is a restaurant on premise which serves breakfast and dinners. The lounge with its soft lights welcomes you and you will dine in the Tuscan Tradition on dishes that are all prepared with loving care by our Chef with the products that are cultivated in our vegetable garden. We will also enjoy a cooking lesson in the kitchens at the Tenuta Lupinari.

From Florence: motorway Autostrada del Sole A1 direction Roma, exit Valdarno. Out of the tollgate, turn right following Montevarchi sign and at the first fork take the road for Bucine. You have to go beyond Levane village and reach Bucine, then go beyond it and go straight on for about 2 km and turn right following Cennina-Fornello sign. Finally you have to go again straight on for about 1,5 km following Tenuta Lupinari signs.
From Rome: motorway Autostrada del Sole A1 direction Firenze, exit Valdichiana. Take the main road in the direction to Siena. Exit Colonna fel Grillo. At the crossroad follow the directions for Bucine-Ambra. Cross the little towns of Ambra and Capannole. When you have crossed Capannole, after about 3 km, turn left towards Cennina-Fornello. After 1,5 km the country road begins you will find the indication for Tenuta Lupinari.
By Train: Bucine Railway station (about 4 km far from Lupinari), Montevarchi Railway Station (about 10 km far from Lupinari) from which you can reach the other main railway stations very quickly (Arezzo, Florence SMN, Roma Termini).
By Plane: Peretola Airport of Florence (about 60 km far from Lupinari), Galileo Galilei Airport of Pisa (about 140 km far from Lupinari), Leonardo Da Vinci Airport of Roma Fiumicino (about 240 km far from Lupinari
