Discover Bergamo with Chiara — Why Choose Bergamo?

Bergamo is a hidden gem in northern Italy, still relatively undiscovered by mass tourism, yet capable of leaving every visitor absolutely breathless. It’s a city of contrasts, where past and present blend in perfect harmony.

The Città Alta (Upper Town), perched on a hill and encircled by magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Venetian walls, offers breathtaking medieval views, cobblestone alleys, and a timeless charm. In contrast, the Città Bassa (Lower Town) is a vibrant blend of modern elegance, with its historic cafés, cutting-edge design boutiques, and bustling cultural life.

Beyond its beauty, Bergamo is also strategically located. Just a few kilometers from the international airport of Orio al Serio, and well-connected by trains, buses, and highways, it’s incredibly accessible and makes the perfect base for exploring northern Italy.

Surrounding the city are valleys, mountains, and plains that whisper centuries-old stories and offer genuine, traditional flavors. Whether you’re hiking in the nearby hills or enjoying a local festival in a nearby village, you’ll experience the deep-rooted culture that pulses just beyond the city’s lively heart.
And with Chiara as your guide, Bergamo becomes more than just a destination — it becomes a full-immersion adventure in language, culture, and authentic Italian living.

Meet Chiara

A dreamer with a sharp eye for detail and an insatiable curiosity, Chiara believes that true learning happens at the intersection of emotion and real-life experience. That’s why she transforms every lesson into a lived moment, where words take on meaning through context, and mistakes are embraced as opportunities to grow.

Chiara was born and raised in Bergamo, where she earned a degree in Economics and Business. Her journey into teaching Italian began almost by chance—a twist of fate that led her to work at a language school in Canada. That unexpected opportunity opened her eyes to a powerful truth: the best way to learn a language is by living it, step by step, in the real world.

After returning to Italy from Canada, Chiara refined her teaching skills by exploring innovative approaches to language learning. This journey led to her unique method—a blend of motivation, emotion, and strategy that makes every lesson a personalized and meaningful experience.

At the heart of Chiara’s world is her family—her greatest support. Her husband and two children, Tommaso (13) and Camilla (9), remind her daily of the value of listening and adapting. They inspire her to see each student as unique, shaping her teaching into an approach that is not only methodical but also deeply human, empathetic, and flexible.

What to Expect from Chiara’s Walk in Italy Language Experience in Bergamo

Lessons are mobile and tailored to your interests: whether it’s strolling through the historic center, enjoying meals in local trattorias, exploring fashion boutiques, taking scenic walks or light jogs on hillside trails, relaxing in a spa, or cooking traditional dishes.

CHIARA’S TEACHING METHOD: How It Works

Chiara is a certified Italian teacher with a CEDILS qualification in teaching Italian as a foreign language. Her approach is immersive, engaging, and entirely natural—making language learning feel effortless. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, Chiara’s expertise in teaching foreign learners puts you in the best possible hands. With her, you won’t just study Italian—you’ll live it, absorb it, and enjoy every moment of the journey.

It all begins with a discovery call, where you’ll share a bit about yourself, your Italian level, and your learning goals. From there, Chiara designs a personalized lesson just for you. Whether you want to master a tricky grammar point or boost your conversational confidence, your lesson will unfold through real-life experiences—ordering at cafés, exploring local markets, or chatting with shopkeepers about regional specialties. You might practice grammar while strolling through Bergamo’s Città Alta or during a hands-on cooking class or tasting.

And to bring it all together, as you unwind with a glass of local wine, Chiara will provide a recap highlighting the grammar points you encountered—showing exactly how and when they came to life during your experience.

We had a great time with Chiara. She loves Bergamo and you can feel this love during the whole experience. She knows the city really well and shows it is hidden places with an open heart and smoothly combine this tour with learning Italian. After the walk you have new words you can use to express yourself, but even greater — you find out that learning Italian can be fun and can be done on-the-go. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Bergamo or even living here. You will for sure find new places during the walk you missed multiple times just passing by.

For me God has always been the hand that points the way to the people I have to meet. This year it showed me Chiara – a joyful Italian lady who has the ability to make the Italian language a wonderful adventure. I had a second lesson with her on my birthday and once again it was much more than what I expected. Like always, she created an intensive yet entertaining schedule according to my interests including an exhibition of Picasso paintings, a lunch at a rooftop restaurant with a magnificent view of Duomo di Milano, strolling in Brera and Navigli and, of course, lots of laugh. And much more – every single word in Italian she taught me is now a memory.
