Matta Italian Language Tip!

Misleading words, too much attitude,
and how to truly apologize in Italian.

Learning how to apologize in Italiano — New Post on StudentessaMatta.com

Remember this trick:

IF AN ITALIAN WORD SEEMS “TOO EASY” BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE AN ENGLISH WORD , PAUSE FOR A SECOND AND CHECK IT.

IT MIGHT BE A FALSE FRIEND JUST WAITING TO EMBARRASS YOU!
If you made a mistake, you can say:

Scusami, Ti chiedo scusa, Mi dispiace, Ti porgo le mie scuse,
Ti presento le mie più sentite scuse.

If instead you use words like apologia thinking you
are apologizing, you risk getting the opposite effect.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If someone tells you that you “fare il prezioso” or
“darti delle arie,” it is not a compliment.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And if you want to present “proof,” remember:
in Italian you need le prove, not l’evidenza.
The Chimera of Arezzo – An Etruscan Masterpiece & The Chimera of Arezzo – An Etruscan Masterpiece & Mythical Marvel

The June Matta Program is filling up, and I can’t wait to meet all the new and returning students. Paola Testi, director of Cultura Italiana, and I have put together a wonderful program designed to immerse you in the Italian language, culture, and the beautiful city of Arezzo.

I’m excited to welcome a new group of students who will soon be arriving to begin their Italian adventure in this enchanting Tuscan city. And one of the very first “creatures” they’ll encounter, just steps from the train station, is none other than Arezzo’s legendary Chimera, a proud symbol of the city and a marvelous introduction to the history, art, and mystery that await them here.

In a new blog post, discover the Chimera of Arezzo, one of the most famous Etruscan bronzes in Italy. Learn more about all the Italian Language Immersion Programs in Italy this year! StudentessaMatta.com

Discover the Chimera of Arezzo, one of the most famous Etruscan bronzes in Italy.
