The teachers will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone—to greet an artisan in their workshop, chat with a barista, read menus aloud, and order your meal like a local. You’ll be guided to listen actively, speak boldly, and yes—laugh at your mistakes, because they’re not failures, they’re milestones. Every misstep is a step forward.

From “Papà” to “Babbo”
A Milano, durante una lezione con Renata, uno studente chiese:”Come si dice ‘dad’ in italiano?” Renata sorrise: “Qui diciamo papà!”
A student asked Renata in Milan: “How do you say ‘dad’ in Italian?” Renata smiled: “Here we say papà!”
Pochi giorni dopo, a Siena, lo stesso studente chiese a Chiara B.: “Anche qui si dice papà?”Lei rispose: “Qui si dice babbo!”
Days later in Siena, the same student asked Chiara B., “Is it also papà here?” She replied: “Here we say babbo!”
È un’anguria o un cocomero?
Durante una passeggiata linguistica a Bergamo, Chiara F. indicò una fetta di frutta e disse: “Guarda che bella anguria!”
In Bergamo, Chiara F. pointed to a slice of watermelon and said: “Look at that beautiful anguria!”
Ma qualche giorno dopo, a Viareggio, Valeria indicò la stessa frutta: “Noi la chiamiamo cocomero!”
But a few days later in Viareggio, Valeria pointed to the same fruit and said: “We call it cocomero!”

Don’t just learn the language… live it!
Porta con te un piccolo taccuino e ogni giorno scrivi una parola o espressione nuova che hai sentito. Ma soprattutto: usala subito in una frase vera. Che sia al mercato o in gelateria… la lingua prende vita nella vita!
Carry a small notebook and write down one new word or expression each day. But most importantly—use it in a real sentence right away. Whether you’re at the market or the gelato shop… language comes alive in life!
