In the House of Modigliani! Visiting the birthplac In the House of Modigliani! Visiting the birthplace of Amedeo Modigliani in Livorno was a moving experience. The artist was born right here in the kitchen, on a marble table beside the apartment’s only source of running water. He spent his early childhood in this small home, where his artistic talent began started to develop studying art, with various Livornese teachers including Giovanni Fattori. I enjoyed an intimate and insightful conversation with the caretakers about Modigliani’s life and legacy.

What a fantastic show — Fattori was a trailblazer and part of the Macchiaioli, a group of visionary Italian artists who changed the course of painting. Loved strolling through the galleries and soaking up all that artistic inspiration!
