Perfect for sports enthusiasts, the Lecco side of the lake offers activities like windsurfing, sailing, paragliding, and climbing. Their combined teaching expertise and passion for the Italian language ensure a thorough, dynamic, and engaging learning experience.
Lario Lake, or Lake Como, is an inverted Y branch. At one end of the Y branch is the city of Como, and on the other end lies Lecco. The city of Lecco is located directly on the lake, right at the mountains’ feet.
Lecco, the setting for Alessandro Manzoni’s famed novel “I promessi sposi” (The Betrothed), enriches this experience. The neighborhood where you’ll stay is themed around the novel, adding a historical layer to your visit. Nearby, you’ll find a variety of typical taverns and restaurants, perfect for exploring local cuisine after your language lessons.

The apartment includes a newly renovated private bathroom and kitchen with all the essentials for preparing meals. There’s a warm fireplace for added coziness, and on sunny days, you can relax or dine in the lush green garden.
The apartment has Wi-Fi and a TV, and towels and sheets are changed weekly. Nestled in the hills just above Lecco, the location offers easy descents to the town while the climb back up provides a healthy challenge, particularly during the summer months. For convenience, electric bikes are available for rent in Lecco, making the journey easier and more enjoyable.
What to Expect from Beatrice & Paola’s Homestay Language Course
About the Hosts: Beatrice, born in 1978, holds a degree in foreign languages and literature from Università Cattolica in Milan. She has spent a year in Los Angeles and has worked in the Como textile industry’s export sectors. Beatrice has been teaching Italian since 2005. She is also a mother of two and enjoys shopping in Milan, exploring museums, and visiting cities like Parma and Bologna. She is also an avid reader and writer.
Paola, 56, has lived in the United States for three years and is a graduate interpreter and translator. She has taught Italian since 1991 and is passionate about Argentinian-style tango dancing and sweets. She even runs a YouTube cooking channel focused on desserts called ‘L’inglese con i dolci’ (“Learn English with desserts”).
