We sampled wines from the Arezzo region alongside local specialties, learning about the traditions, legends, and stories that make this corner of Tuscany so special. Our sommelier guided us through the winemaking process, explaining how the local landscape, climate, and centuries-old traditions shape each bottle. Between sips, we picked up new Italian vocabulary, heard fascinating local tales, and gained a deeper appreciation for the culture behind the wine.  When the In Search of the Renaissance in Arezzo
 When the Tuscan sun decides to turn Arezzo into a wood-fired oven, there's an elegant solution: step inside some of its beautiful Renaissance churches! Today we set out in search of the Renaissance, visiting three hidden gems that are well worth a stop. First stop: The Abbey Church of Saints Flora and Lucilla (La Badia) Often called Vasari's church, it features important decorative work by Giorgio Vasari, Arezzo's most famous artist and architect. Stepping inside is like stepping into the artistic world that helped shape the city's identity. Second stop: The Church of the Santissima Annunziata This church has its origins in an ancient spedale. In the Middle Ages, a spedale was much more than a hospital. It also served as a hostel, shelter, and tavern for pilgrims and travelers making their way through Tuscany. A fascinating place that tells centuries of stories about hospitality and care. Third stop: Santa Maria in Gradi Here you'll find one of the city's artistic treasures: a beautiful masterpiece by the Della Robbia family, famous for their brilliant glazed terracotta works in luminous shades of white and blue.
