In Italian, when you want to say “feel at home,” you simply say: “Sentirsi a casa.” It’s a short but very warm expression that conveys the idea of feeling welcomed and comfortable, almost as if you were already part of the family.
“Fai come a casa tua!”
Another very common phrase you’ll hear when entering an Italian home is: “Fai come a casa tua!” – literally, make yourself at home. It’s the friendly way Italians invite guests to relax, help themselves, open the fridge without hesitation, and feel free.
“Casa dolce casa!”
And of course, there’s the affectionate expression “Casa dolce casa” – the Italian equivalent of home sweet home. You’ll find it embroidered on pillows, hanging on the walls, or said with a sigh of relief after a trip: no matter where you go, there’s always something special about returning home.
