Join Melissa Muldoon for a 5-week private reading seminar as we explore Il senso del dolore, the third novel in the atmospheric Commissario Ricciardi series by Maurizio de Giovanni — Il posto di ognuno

Set in 1930s Naples, the Commissario Ricciardi series follows Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi—a noble but solitary police commissioner with a chilling secret. He can see the restless echoes of those who died violently and hear their final words. He calls this strange gift il fatto: it helps him solve crimes, but it also keeps him at a distance from ordinary life—and from love. In this installment, Ricciardi and Brigadiere Maione investigate the murder of a beautiful society woman, uncovering a case shaped by appearances, private rivalries, and the pressures of status in a city simmering with heat and tension.

Through personalized Zoom sessions, we’ll discuss language, culture, and character, while building vocabulary and confidence in Italian.
