Ciao Tutti! sono appena tornata da una vacanza di studio fantastico a Roma. Per me è stato un grande piacere trascorrere dieci giorni nella compagnia di persone fantastiche e “super” simpatiche – tutti studenti della lingua e dell’arte. Nella mattina abbiamo studiato a Scud’It – la scuola di Roberto Tartaglione e nei pomeriggio Kelly Medford ci ha insegnato lezioni di arte nei parchi di Roma intorno alla città. Abbiamo fatto tante belle cose interessanti; abbiamo fatto nuove amicizie, abbiamo imparato molto e abbiamo vissuto come i Romani. Nonostante il caldo, ci siamo trovati bene a Roma e abbiamo riso molto! Ecco alcuni momenti speciali dalla nostra vacanza.
Hi Everyone! I’ve just returned from a fabulous Italian language learning vacation in Rome. For me, it was absolutely wonderful spending 10 days in the company of some really great people – all students of the language and of art. In the mornings we studied at Scud’It the school of Roberto Tartaglione and in the afternoons Kelly Medford taught us how to draw in paint in Roman parks around the city. We did so many lovely and interesting things; we made new friends, we learned a lot and we lived like the Romans! Despite the heat, we did really well in Rome and we laughed a lot! Here are some special moments from our vacation.

Abbiamo imparato come muoverci intorno a Roma usando i mezzi trasporti: l’autobus per andare a scuola, la metro per andare ad altre parti della città.
Abbiamo anche camminato dappertutto.
We learned how to get around Rome using public transportation… the bus to go to school, the metro to get to other parts of the city. We also walked a lot.

Abbiamo studiato italiano con insegnanti bravi presso Scud’It la scuola di Roberto Tartaglioni e studenti di tutto il mondo! Il primo giorno di scuola – eccoci davanti la scuola!
We studied Italian with wonderful Italian instructors at Roberto Tartaglioni’s School Scud’It and students from all around the world!
Tutti hanno frequentato un corso adatto al loro proprio livello. Ecco la mia classe con Daniela – la maestra fantastica e due ragazze di Polonia e Russia.
We each were placed in a class appropriate to our individual language levels. Here is my class with the fabulous Daniela, my instructor, and two classmates from Poland and Russia.
Ogni mattina abbiamo fatto una pausa per prendere un caffè al bar dietro l’angolo dalla scuola Scud’It… e poi siamo tornati alla scuola fino all’una per finire le lezioni.
Every morning we had a coffee break at our favorite corner Bar near Scud’It and then back to school until 1 to finish classes.

Una serata siamo andati al teatro Globe nella Villa Borghese per assistere allo spettacolo di Shakespeare (in Italiano) “Sogno di una notte di mezza estate”.
One evening we went to the Globe Theater in the Villa Borghese to see Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Nights Dream” in Italian of course!.
Abbiamo fatto un tour notturna del vaticano.
We had a nocturnal tour of the Vatican.
Una mattina abbiamo fatto una passeggiata con Giulia Grassi per sapere più di Piazza Navona e le chiese nella zona.
One morning we took a walk with Giulia Grassi to learn more about Piazza Navona and the baroque churches in the area.

Thanks to everyone who made this Matta Rome 2015 Experience unforgettable. I applaud everyone for being so special and above all super fun! Thanks to my intrepid travelers – each a wonderful student and artist – for coming along on this incredible journey – despite the heat of a Roman summer. I considered you all to be great friends now.
