Arezzo located in Tuscany between Florence & Rome
Enza’s Homestay in Arezzo, in Tuscany, is an opportunity to live in the hill town of Arezzo, easily accessible by rail line between Florence and Rome in the heart of Tuscany. You will stay on the top floors of Enza’s family apartment building, accessed by elevator or stairs, in the center of town just off Piazza Guido Monaco. Italian instruction will be provided by the teachers of Cultura Italiana Language school, located just a few blocks away.

Arezzo is home to the famous antique fair

Get to know Enza your Homestay Hostess. Enza is an elementary school teacher, who lives with her partner, a well-known doctor in Arezzo. She has a daughter and a sister with whom you will have the opportunity to interact.

Enza’s home.
You have two choices of where to stay with Enza.
- You may choose to stay in the family’s lovely modern apartment in their spare guest room. If you chose this scenario, you will have full use of the family’s living spaces, soggiorno, bathroom, and kitchen.
- You may choose to stay in Enza’s Terrace Garden Apartment located on the top floor of the building above the apartment where Enza’s family lives. It is a more private retreat, with a private entrance that is accessible via elevator or stairs. Please note, however, the Terrace Garden Apartment is not entirely separated from the family’s main apartment below—there is a staircase that leads from this apartment directly into the family’s living space below. The Terrace Garden Apartment features an expansive wood tiled patio with comfy divans, plants, and a gorgeous view of the city. During the spring, summer, and fall, you may use the patio to eat outside, watch TV, work on the computer, drink spritzs, and entertain. The Terrace Garden Apartment accommodation is a bit more rustic, featuring a private bedroom with an eating area, a small galley way kitchen (with stovetop, refrigerator, sink), and a bathroom (with shower and sink.) It has air conditioning, wi-fi, a TV, and a washing machine.

The private apartment features, airconditioning, wifi, TV, and washing machine. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a stove/cooktop (but no oven). The building has an elevator that goes all the way to the terrace apartment.


What Enza’s Homestay includes. In addition to the studio apartment and use of the terrace, Enza provides half-board (breakfast and dinner) that students may take with the family. Enza is available most afternoons of the week to shop with students, go for ice cream or coffee, chat or take a walk about the town. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in dinners and impromptu informal parties with friends that the family usually organizes at the end of the week.
Language Instruction. You will take private lessons with a teacher for Cultura Italiana Arezzo Italian school. Classes will take place at the home of Enza. If the weather allows, lessons will be on the terrace.
You may choose from:
2 hours per day (10 hours per week)
3 hours per day (15 hours per week)

Activities and excursions. Homestay students will also participate in 3 excursions each week, organized by Cultura Italiana Language school. Costs for the activities, including museums, buses, and train tickets are included.)

Transportation to and from Arezzo. You can reach Arezzo either by Florence or Rome airports. It is about a 2-hour train ride from either city.


What Arezzo has to offer. Arezzo is a charming town, the birthplace of Giorgio Vasari, and home to monthly antique fair and the medieval jousting festival that occurs in June and September. The town is also the backdrop to Roberto Benigni’s film “Life is Beautiful” which won an academy award. The gently sloping Piazza Grande in the center of town, features the majestic Vasari Loggia at one end, the rounded apse of the church La Pieve on the other, and is flanked by charming medieval towers. It is also the home to many bars and restaurants. A short distance away is the Duomo — San Donato at the top of Arezzo’s hill, as well as the church of San Francesco — home to the Piero della Francesca’s fresco cycle “The story of the true cross.” Across town in the church of San Domenico, you will discover a cross painted by Cimabue. Just a short train ride away are the towns of Cortona, Florence, Chiusi, and Orvieto.
