B&B La Chimera

Style: Charming, Traditional, Family-Run

Location: Just off Piazza La Badia, near San Francesco and Tortello Divino, parallel to Piazza Grande.

Features: Historic building, private baths, reading room with fireplace, breakfast sala, internet, air-conditioning, hair dryers, mini-bar, fridge, guest washing machine.

Proximity: 10-minute walk to Cultura Italiana, near Sunflower Gelateria.

Option 2:
Hotel Aretino

Style: Contemporary, Functional, Sustainable 

Location: Near the train station, 7-minute walk to Piazza Grande.

Proximity: 3-minute walk to Cultura Italiana, next to Cremeria Cecconi.

Option 3:
Corte del Re

Cost: E 560 supplement for a private apartment in Piazza Grande. 

Features: Ancient building with Etruscan and Medieval walls, unique decoration, kitchenette, air conditioning, satellite TV, common area with library and internet, breakfast in local bar or private kitchenette.

Sunday, June 16 – Friday, June 28, 2024 

Reservation Information:

Availability is on a first-come-first-served basis. 

A reservation is confirmed only upon receipt of a $500 non-refundable deposit or full payment. 

Reservations are open until May 12, 2024. Post this date, accommodation at the Antiche Mura Bed & Breakfast cannot be guaranteed, although we will assist in finding alternative housing (note: prices may vary). 

Payment Details:

The remaining balance of the trip fee is due by April 17, 2024, approximately 60 days before the start of the program. 

The option to pay the total trip fee at the time of booking is available. 

Travel Insurance:

For peace of mind and to protect your investment in the event of a personal emergency or significant life event preventing travel, we recommend considering travel insurance from providers like Travel Guard, AAA, or American Express.

  • 8:30 am – 12:50 pm: Language classes (10:00 start for new students).
  • 4:30 pm: Museo del Saracino visit.
  • 5:30 pm: Guided Supermarket Shopping Excursion.
  • 8:00 pm: Group Dinner #2.

Tuesday, June 18 (Day 3):

  • 9:15 am – 12:50 pm: Language classes.
  • 6:00 pm: Wine Tasting and ApriCena / Dinner #3 with Tuscan delicacies.

Wednesday, June 19 (Day 4):

  • 9:15 am – 12:50 pm: Language classes.
  • 2:00 pm: Excursions to Cortona and the Church of Santa Margherita.
  • 8:00 pm: Dinner (personal choice).

Thursday, June 20 (Day 5):

  • 9:15 am – 12:50 pm: Language classes.
  • 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Cooking lesson with aperitivo and dinner preparation.

Saturday, June 22 (Day 7): Joust Day

  • Full day of Jousting Festival activities and traditions.
  • 9:00 pm: Take seats in Piazza Grande for the main event.
  • 10:00 pm: The joust begins.

Sunday, June 23 (Day 8):

  • Free Day for relaxation and impromptu activities.

Monday, June 24 (Day 9):

  • 9:15 am – 12:50 pm: Language classes.
  • 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Walking Conversation Tour with local artisans.
  • 8:00 pm: Group Dinner #6.

Tuesday, June 25 (Day 10):

  • 9:15 am – 12:50 pm: Language classes.
  • 1:45 pm: Florence Excursion and Walking Tour.

Getting to Arezzo

Arezzo, nestled between Rome and Florence, is easily accessible from both cities, making it a prime location for visitors coming from different parts of the world. Here’s how you can reach this beautiful Tuscan city:

Airports: Both Rome and Florence airports serve as convenient starting points for your journey to Arezzo. Upon landing, you have a variety of options to continue your journey.

Train Travel: Trains run hourly between Rome and Florence, with frequent connections to Arezzo. This reliable and scenic route offers a glimpse into the beautiful Italian countryside, making your travel experience enjoyable from the start.

Coordinated Transportation: Melissa offers the added convenience of organizing shared transportation from both Florence and Rome. Closer to the departure date, once all flight schedules are collected, she will arrange for shared group vans to transport participants directly to Arezzo. This not only eases the stress of travel arrangements but also provides an opportunity to meet fellow participants en route.

Return Journey: At the end of the program, Melissa will similarly coordinate shared transportation back to Florence and Rome. This ensures a smooth and hassle-free return, allowing you to reflect on your experiences in comfort.

Cost Consideration: Please note that whether opting for group or private transport to Arezzo in a hired van, this will be an additional, out-of-pocket expense. It’s advised to budget accordingly for this portion of your trip.
