Introducing a new Italian Language Homestay with Beatrice & Paola in Lecco on Lake Como

I’m happy to present to you all Beatrice and Paola, two Italian language teachers that live in Lecco on Lake Como. Together they have created a fantastic Italian Language Homestay in which students can enjoy the “vita bella” on the banks of Lake Como as they improve their Italian conversation skills.
Beatrice & Paola’s Homestay on Lake Como in Lecco. Beatrice and Paola are Italian teachers who met in 2005 while teaching at the same Italian language school for foreigners. They have teamed up to provide students with a unique Homestay language vacation on Lake Come in their hometown of Lecco.
Where is Lecco? The Lario lake, also known as Lake Como, has the shape of an inverted Y. At one end of the Y branch is the city of Como, and on the other end lies Lecco. The city of Lecco is located directly on the lake, and right at the feet of the mountains.
The Lecco side of the lake is the perfect destination also for people who love sports (windsurf, sailing, paragliding, and climbing). The two teachers combine their teaching skills and love for the Italian language to provide you with an immersive language experience that is extensive, dynamic, and complete.
It is interesting to know that Lecco is featured in the famous novel by Alessandro Manzoni “I promessi sposi” (The Betrothed), and the neighborhood where they will host you is entirely dedicated to the story of the novel. In the surroundings, there are many typical taverns and restaurants.
Your Homestay Accommodations in Lecco
Students will stay in a well-appointed apartment within Beatrice’s house, designed for two people with a new private bathroom and kitchen. The apartment also features a warm fireplace as well as access to a beautiful green garden where you can have lunch or tea on sunny days. The apartment also has a newly remodeled kitchen where you can prepare lunches and meals. Towels and sheets will be changed once a week. There is Wifi and TV.
Just a note: Beatrice’s house is situated a little above Lecco in the hills and so going down is easy, but walking back up the hill takes a bit more energy, especially in the summer. It is possible to rent electric bikes in Lecco.
What is included in Beatrice & Paola’s language course
• Accommodations in a private apartment inside of Beatrice’s house. The apartment accommodates up to 2 people.
• Lessons three hours a day, 2 with Paola and 1 with Beatrice (or vice versa): 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon.
• Pick up at the Lecco train station (which is easily reached from Milan centrale)
• Two lunches and two dinners with Beatrice’s family. (The rest of the meals you will prepare in your own kitchen so you will have privacy and independence)
• Trips to explore the city whenever you want, with visits to Lecco’s museums (if you would like to)
• A day of shopping in Milan
• Visits to the outskirts of Lecco and the towns of Varenna, Bellagio.
• In addition to Italian lessons, we offer activities such as cooking lessons during which they will cook with you traditional Italian dishes and, above all, desserts! Paola even has a YouTube channel on baking called ‘L’inglese con i dolci’ (“Learn English with desserts”)
• Beatrice will also accompany students to the supermarket to do shopping, and will provide all the information necessary to reach the city center (accessible by bus which stops at a five minute walk from the house).
The program in Lecco includes many additional activities: Beatrice and Paola will help you explore Lecco by boat, by car, or on foot, the most impressive places of the lake including Abbadia Lariana, Mandello del Lario (where MOTO GUZZI was born), Varenna, Bellagio (set of the last film on the GUCCI family), the Sentiero del Viandate path that runs along the side of the lake from Lecco to Bellano, light trekking on our beautiful hills. You can also visit other interesting places like Brianza (between Monza and Lecco), Montevecchia, Parco del Curone, Leonardo da Vinci’s ferry in Imbersago.
On request, but not included in the package: Boat Excursions with Aperitivo, Light Hiking & Trekking with local guides with lunch, Yoga Lessons, Argentine tango lessons.

Beatrice and Paola provide a personalized homestay language experience in Lecco on Lake Como. Together they maximize their teaching and linguistic skills and provide a well-rounded learning experience for students around the world.
Beatrice was born in 1978, she graduated in foreign languages and literature at Università Cattolica in Milan, she lived in Los Angeles for a year and later had various experiences in commercial export offices of the Como textile sector. She has been teaching Italian since 2005. Beatrice has two children, 8 and 3. She has a predilection for shopping in Milan, as well as the exhibits and museums for which Milan is well known, but also for smaller cities further away, like Parma and Bologna. She loves to read and write.
Paola, 54, lived for a total of 3 years in the United States, she then graduated as an interpreter and translator and has been teaching Italian since 1991. She is a tango dancer in the Argentinian style, and she loves sweets (check out her Youtube Cooking Channel). In recent years, she has met many students from around the world and remains in contact still with many of them.
