Literally the first time I have not pressed “skip” on an advertisement. Well done. And as a retired US soldier, I can relate to the need for a good meal like that when you’ve been living off of rations. Cheers to your advertising department. They did an outstanding job. I can’t recall complimenting a commercial before, lol.

As a filmmaker in England. I cried at the utter brilliance of this project. Amazing. I salute you.

Adverts on YouTube are a real annoyance… But this advert…. This advert I’ll happily watch all the way through!

La migliore pubblicità che sia stata fatta da moltissimi anni a questa parte non c’è che dire

Very well done. My father was serving in Italy with the New Zealand Forces during this time. He introduced us as children to Spaghetti cooked the Italian way when we were kids. He went to the Opera in Milan after it was liberated and shook the hand of Benamino Gigli the famous tenor.

Festeggiamo il 6 Aprile—adesso ufficialmente CareBonara Day!

Celebrate April 6th — now officially CareBonara Day!

Here is the recipe for Carbonara

Ingredients

  • 1 box Barilla Spaghetti
  • 6 ounces guanciale or pancetta
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 cup Pecorino Romano cheese-grated
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Cook the Spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water, as per instructions on the box. We recommend adding 7 grams of salt per liter of water. Meanwhile, cut the Guanciale into strips and gently brown in a large frypan without adding oil.

Beat the egg yolks, add the Pecorino cheese, and two tablespoons of the pasta cooking water. Add freshly ground black pepper.

When the pasta is cooked al dente, drain and place in the pan with the Guanciale. Take the pan away from the heat, then add the beaten egg yolks, finally add a tablespoon of cooking water for a creamy finish.

Mix well then sprinkle Pecorino cheese and black pepper, as required.

Tutti a tavola! Buon apetito!
