Le vacanze sono finite (hanno scivolato via in fretta, no) e adesso sto abbracciando e affrontando l’anno nuovo! Tante buone cose stanno per succedere nel 2019!
The holidays are over (they flew by in a hurry didn’t they?) and now I’m embracing and confronting the new year. Lots of good things are about to happen in 2019!

Tra poche settimane pubblicherò il mio terzo romanzo ambientato in Italia—specificamente Toscana, Firenze e Roma. Il tema si basa sugli eventi della vita di Artemisia Gentileschi, la prima importante artista femminile che dipinse durante l’epoca barocca. Ora che il nuovo romanzo è quasi finito, tornerò al blog, scriverò post di nuovo su Facebook, e farò nuovi video su YouTube. Sto anche iniziando a rimuginare su un’idea che ho per il prossimo romanzo e lo svilupperò nei prossimi mesi.
In just a few weeks I will be publishing my third novel set in Italy—specifically Tuscany, Florence, and Rome. The theme is based upon the real-life events of Artemisia Gentileschi’s life—the first important female artist who painted during the Baroque era. Now that the new novel is almost finished, I’ll be back to blogging, Facebook posting, and making Youtube videos. I am also starting to mull over an idea I have for a fourth book and will be developing that over the next couple of months.

Sono anche in attesa di due nuovi programmi di Language Immersion quest’anno. A giugno tornerò ad Arezzo tra il 16 al 30 e a Montepulciano dal 14 al 28. Mi piacerebbe che voi mi unisite a me! I programmi sono per un massimo di 10 persone. Studiamo in una scuola italiana al mattino e al pomeriggio, organizzo attività ed escursioni per continuare a praticare le abilità linguistica.
I am also looking forward to two new Italian language immersion programs this coming year. In June I will be back in Arezzo through the 16-30 and in Montepulciano on September 14-28. I’d love for you to join me! The programs are for up to 10 people. We study at an Italian school in the mornings and in the afternoons, I organize activities and excursions so we can continue practicing conversation skills.

Guardando indietro brevemente al 2018 è stato un anno eccellente! Ho trascorso due mesi e mezzo in Italia con I miei gruppi, vivendo e viaggiando per il paese incontrando gli insegnanti di Homestay con cui collaboro e anche tanti amici.
Looking back briefly at 2018 it was an excellent year! I spent about two-and-a-half months in Italy with my groups—living and traveling around the country meeting up with the Homestay Teachers with whom I partner and also lots of friends.

Presenting Waking Isabella in Arezzo & Montepulciano
È stata anche una grande emozione presentare il mio secondo romanzo Waking Isabella, ambientato ad Arezzo lo scorso giugno ad Arezzo nell’antica Biblioteca della città. Attualmente questo romanzo è stato tradotto in italiano e uscirà tra poche settimane.
It was also quite a thrill to present my second novel Waking Isabella, which is set in Arezzo last June in Arezzo at the town’s ancient Biblioteca. Currently, this novel is being translated into Italian and is due out in just a few weeks.

June & September Jousts in Arezzo
Ho anche partecipato alle Giostra a giugno e a settembre ad Arezzo e non vedo l’ora di ripettere l’esperienza nel 2019. Vorrei che tutti voi uniste a me. È un momento particolare ad Arezzo quando tutti si vestono in costumi medievali e tutti fanno tifo per la loro squadra. Che emozione ascoltare i tamburi, vedere gli sbandieratori e guardare i giostratori cavalcare sui cavalli!
I also participated in the June and September Jousts in Arezzo and look forward to doing it all over again in 2019! I’d like for you all to join me! You will have the time of your life during this particular time in this lovely little hill town when everyone dresses up in medieval costumes and everyone cheers for their team! It is a thrill to hear the drums, see the flag throwers, and watch the jousters parade by on their horses!
