Montepulciano is a delightful Tuscan town and you can join me there this September. Together we will study at the language school Il Sasso and discover the town’s many charms. Immersing in language and culture and traveling with like-minded individuals is a great way to learn the language in a relaxed and friendly environment.

In my new book “Eternally Artemisia” several scenes take place in Montepulciano. Here is an excerpt from the book describing Montepulciano:

Left to her own devices, at first Maddie hibernated like a hermit, sleeping sometimes way past noon. Gradually, however, she acclimated to local rural rhythms and grew accustomed, not only to the sounds and aromas but also the late summer light. Each morning, she welcomed the sun as it rose over the bell tower in the center of town, creating bold shadows and blinding patches of light over the ancient stones. But what she found most satisfying was sitting on the steps of the cathedral every evening, where she could keep an eye on the little boys who played soccer in the cool blue light of the moon.

As the days blended into one another, feeling rejuvenated by the tranquility of the place, she reached out once again to Camilla. Soon they met for coffee in the Piazza Grande or for a glass of wine on the terrace of Lucevan Le Stella, where they watched the big puffy clouds scuttling over plains, extending as far as the eye could see.”

As a sneak peek of our fall program I wanted to share with you some lovely photos of the town I took last year during last year’s language program. Although the town is small, around every corner there is something new to see!
